Venue Claim Terms
Last Updated: June 2026 (draft, pending counsel review)
These Venue Claim Terms supplement, and do not replace, our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. They govern the act of claiming and operating a venue listing on Full Uproar and the Afterroar network (collectively, the “Platform”).
What “claiming” means
When you claim a venue on the Platform, you are publicly asserting that you have the legal authority to operate that venue’s online presence — to publish events, accept RSVPs, represent the venue to its members, and manage its data on the Platform. Claiming a venue is not a hobby. It is an operating role with real obligations to the people who walk through that venue’s doors.
What we require before we hand you the keys
To claim a venue, you must:
- Be a real, identified person. You must put a valid credit or debit card on file at the time of claim. Our payment processor (Stripe) verifies that the card belongs to a real person at a real billing address each time we charge it. You may additionally complete government-issued ID verification at any time, and we may require it for higher-trust actions. Regardless of which path you choose, the goal is the same: every claim must be traceable back to a real human we can identify.
- Swear under penalty of perjury that you are authorized. You will be asked to attest, in plain language, that you own, manage, or are acting with the documented permission of the owner of the venue you are claiming. This attestation is captured with your user ID, IP address, user agent, the version of these Terms in effect, and the verbatim text you saw, and stored indefinitely for fraud prevention.
- Agree to operate the venue in good faith — to keep its listing accurate, to respect the rights of its members and other claimants, and to follow the rest of these Terms and the Afterroar Credo.
Impersonation is fraud
Claiming a venue you do not operate is fraud. Not "frowned upon," not "against our policy" — fraud. If you submit a claim attestation knowing the assertion of authority is false, you may face:
- Civil liability to Full Uproar Games, Inc. and to the rightful operator of the venue, including but not limited to damages, costs, and attorney's fees.
- Criminal referral to local, state, or federal law enforcement, including for wire fraud, identity-related offenses, and computer fraud, at our discretion.
- Permanent network ban across the Platform and federated services.
We are willing to litigate this. The credit card record (and any identity verification record, where completed) is collected specifically to make sure that, if we have to, we know who you are.
Our right to take down any listing, any time
The Platform may, at its sole discretion and without notice, refuse, suspend, freeze, or remove any venue listing — pre-claim, claim-active, or post-claim — for any reason or no reason, including suspected fraud, abuse, breach of these Terms, legal compulsion, or operational necessity. Removal of a listing does not constitute admission of fault and does not waive any other remedy.
Contested claims
Any party who believes they hold the rightful authority to operate a claimed venue may contest the active claim through the documented contest flow (see /contact). A contested claim may be placed in a CONTESTED state, during which event creation, RSVP collection, and branding edits may be frozen pending resolution. We will adjudicate in good faith using the credit-card record, the attestation, any identity verification on file, and any supporting documentation either party provides. Our determination is final for purposes of Platform access; nothing in this section limits either party’s separate legal remedies against the other.
Termination
We may terminate your claim, your venue subscription, and your Platform access at any time for cause — including fraud, impersonation, false attestation, repeated breach, or use of the venue listing in a way that endangers its members. Termination for cause is without refund of any paid subscription fees. Termination does not waive any other remedy; civil action, criminal referral, and network ban may proceed in addition to termination, not instead of it.
Survival
The attestation record, the credit-card record, any identity verification record, and your obligations under this section survive termination of your claim.

Note: This document is a draft pending counsel review. The criminal-referral language, the no-refund-on-cause clause, the perjury framing, and the CONTESTED freeze mechanism are flagged for legal sign-off before launch. See docs/decisions/venue-claim-lasso.md in the repo for the full review list.
