Why shipping is $8

Shipping is $8. One deck or twenty. Anywhere in America, Guam included. That's about what USPS charges us; we eat the box and the tape.

$10. Correction: $8 ships it to Ketchikan, Alaska. Yes, really.

One more number, since you are here: a gifted deck is $25 with shipping included, and a deck plus shipping is $28. Yes, the gift is the cheapest way to buy one deck. Gifts should be. Gift a Deck.

What USPS charges us for one deck, by zone

USPS Ground Advantage prices by distance from South Bend, Indiana. Zone 1 is next door. Zone 8 is the far coast, Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico and the territories. Averaged over where people actually live, a single deck costs us about $7.66. You pay $8 in every row.

Bigger boxes

Two, three or four decks ride USPS cubic pricing, which prices the box, not the weight. The most we have ever been quoted for four decks is $10.13, to Ketchikan and to Guam. You still pay $8; we eat the $2.13. Per deck that works out to $8 for one, $4 each for two, $2.67 each for three and $2 each for four. Stack the box.

$8 is a rate, not a carrier

For each box we buy the cheapest service that keeps the promise, usually USPS Ground Advantage, sometimes Priority Mail when it wins. Typically 2 to 5 business days, a bit longer to Alaska, Hawaii and the territories. Your tracking email names the carrier once the label is printed.

All year

$8 in December too. USPS charges us more from early October to mid January. We eat the difference rather than change the price for the holidays.

Why not free shipping

Free shipping is shipping hidden inside the price. A deck is $20 and we would rather keep it $20 and show you the $8 than sell you a $28 deck with a free label. This page is the receipt.

Faster, and elsewhere

When a faster option is available it shows at checkout, named by service, at the carrier's own price. Nothing added. We ship within the US only for now.

Returns

Our mistake, we pay. Changed your mind, you pay the return postage. How returns work.
